Bronze chocks are not plated, but they are also "cast" in the sense of "fresh from the mold". They are quite rough, though the screw holes are neatly done. You should plan on spending some time smoothing the cast edges and cleaning them up before installing. But they look perfect otherwise.

Great bronze chocks for mooring lines

Lost one of my bow chocks on my 35-foot Alberg -- the screws pulled out and the force of the mooring line dragged the chock out and into the drink. I replaced the missing and remaining one with a matched set, using longer, heavier bronze screws also purchased from Deep Blue Yacht Supply. So far, so good, holding up well and look great.
