Enter the Part Number stamped on your propeller

Sample Part : 48-816702A40 (Include dashes, but not spaces)

Type the part number stamped on your current propeller to see every replacement prop that fits your boat. Our lookup cross-references OEM numbers from Mercury, Yamaha, Honda, Volvo Penta, Evinrude and other engine makers to matching OEM and aftermarket propellers from Michigan Wheel, Solas, ACME and more, with the same diameter, pitch, rotation and hub fit.

Tip: Enter the number exactly as stamped, including dashes and letters, with no spaces.
Example: 48-816702A40.

  • How to Find the Part Number on Your Propeller

Most outboard and sterndrive propellers have the manufacturer's part number stamped into the hub.

    To find it:

    • Remove the prop or look closely at the hub.
    • Check the outside of the hub barrel between the blades, the front face of the hub, and the inside of the hub bore.
    • Clean the area. Paint, growth and corrosion often hide the stamping. A plastic scraper or fine scouring pad works; avoid grinding, which removes the numbers.Use angled light.
    • Shine a flashlight across the stamping at a low angle, or rub chalk or a pencil over a sheet of paper laid on top, to make worn characters readable.

Write down every number you see. Besides the part number, props are usually stamped with diameter and pitch (for example, 14 x 21) and sometimes a rotation mark. Those help confirm the match.

  • How to Read Your Propeller's Markings

    • Part number: The manufacturer's catalog number. Mercury and Quicksilver part numbers typically begin with 48-, like the example above. This is what you enter in the lookup.
    • Diameter: The width of the circle the blade tips make, in inches. It's the first number in a size marking such as 14 x 21.
    • Pitch: How far the prop would move forward in one revolution with no slip, in inches. It's the second number in the size marking.
    • Rotation: Right-hand props turn clockwise viewed from behind the boat; left-hand props turn counterclockwise. Left-hand props are often marked with an "L" or "LH." Twin-engine boats commonly run one of each.
  • Why Match by Part Number?

Two props with the same diameter and pitch aren't always interchangeable. Blade count, cup, material, and the hub or spline system all affect fit and performance. Starting from your original part number lets us show only props built to fit your gearcase and perform like the one you have now, plus aftermarket options that match it.

What to Do If You Can't Find or Read the Number

    • Search by engine instead: Use our Propeller Guide by engine to find props by motor make, model and horsepower.
    • Inboard propellers: Inboard props are usually stamped with diameter, pitch, rotation and shaft bore rather than an OEM part number. Use our Inboard Propeller Sizing service.
    • Ask a propeller specialist: Call 1-800-454-6960 or email photos of your prop's hub and markings to sales@deepblueyachtsupply.com, along with your engine make, model and horsepower. We'll identify the right replacement.
